How to Download XChat
XChat is available on iOS starting April 23, 2026. Here's how to install it, plus what we know about Android and web versions.
Download XChat on iPhone and iPad
XChat is available on the Apple App Store. On April 23, 2026 or later:
- Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad
- Search for XChat
- Tap Get to download
- Open XChat and sign in with your X account
Requirements
- iPhone or iPad running iOS 16 or later
- An X (Twitter) account
- Internet connection
XChat for Android
The Android version of XChat has not been released. X Corp has not announced an official release date. We will update this page as soon as official information becomes available.
Warning: Any app claiming to be "XChat for Android" currently on the Google Play Store is not official. Do not download unofficial versions — they may contain malware or steal your X account credentials.
XChat for Web and Desktop
There is no official web or desktop version of XChat at launch. X Corp has hinted at future expansion to other platforms, but no timeline has been shared.
Is XChat free?
Yes, XChat is completely free to download and use. There are no ads and no premium tiers.
Do I need an X account?
Yes. XChat requires signing in with an X (formerly Twitter) account. You cannot create an XChat account separately. If you don't have one, you can sign up at x.com.
Troubleshooting
XChat doesn't appear in the App Store
Make sure your device is running iOS 16 or later, and that your App Store region supports XChat. At launch, XChat is available in most countries but not all.
Can't sign in with X account
Make sure you can sign in to x.com in your browser. If your X account has 2FA enabled, you'll need to complete the 2FA challenge in XChat as well.
